Quoting Roy Ascott, Janet Silk poses a question: “Is there love in the telematic embrace?" Silk is one of more than 40 artists who have watched out the windows of the Developing Environments arts housing community as the tech boom grew over the city. The housing facility was officially established in 1972, and the residents, many who have lived and worked there for decades, describe the hurdles the new age has brought and their own view of the future for art and technology in a time of gentrification within their own community.
